Super Cozy

Super Cozy shows Frank in bed, tucked under thick pink and orange bedding, rendered in aerosol paint and Krink mop rather than the fluorescent acrylic Sines uses elsewhere. The materials matter: street art tools applied to an unmistakably domestic, vulnerable scene, which is exactly the tension the painting is built on.

It is a rest painting in a body of work that is mostly about motion and connection, and that contrast is what makes it worth pausing on. The soft forms and loose linework show a side of Frank Ape that is easy to miss elsewhere in the collection: comfort rather than statement.

This is a unique work on canvas, made with the same aerosol-based materials Sines uses in Picasso, but turned toward something gentler and more private.
