About this piece

Honour is the sixth work in The Virtues, and one of the tightest editions Hirst released within the series, a detail worth knowing before the rest. HENI's eight-work portfolio distills the artist's Cherry Blossoms paintings, exhibited at Fondation Cartier to considerable acclaim, into a focused set of prints, each named for a principle of Bushidō. Nitobe described honour as the warrior's most acute form of self-respect, a code enforced not by law but by conscience, and Hirst answers it with a composition that feels almost combustible: dense blossoms, high contrast, very little visual rest.

The physical object matters here as much as the image. HENI mounts each Giclée print directly onto an aluminium composite panel rather than framing it behind glass, which means the surface stays completely flat and glare-free: you see the paint's texture, not a reflection. It's an unusually direct way to experience a print, closer to standing in front of the original canvas than most editioned work allows.

Honour's edition of 693 is the smallest among the Virtues pieces available through Art Dealing Guy, and it has stayed consistently in demand on the secondary market as a result. The work is hand-signed and numbered on the reverse, in pristine gallery condition, and ready to hang out of the box.
