Message Guy on WhatsAppJustice opened The Virtues, the first of the eight prints Hirst released from the series and the one he chose to anchor it. Nitobe defined justice as an unwavering, reasoned integrity, the most structurally important of the Samurai virtues, and Hirst's composition matches that weight: a dense, nearly total canopy of pale pink and white blossoms with only thin breaks of blue sky. The series editions his Cherry Blossoms paintings, shown to significant acclaim at Fondation Cartier, into a defined eight-work portfolio through HENI.
As with the rest of the series, this is a laminated Giclée print flush-mounted directly onto an aluminium composite panel rather than framed behind glass, a production choice that keeps the surface completely flat and lets the depth of the original brushwork read without glare or distraction.
As the opening piece of the portfolio, Justice has built a particularly consistent following on the secondary market; at 1,005 examples, it's one of the larger editions in the series but has remained steadily in demand. The work is in pristine condition, hand-signed and numbered on the reverse, and ready to hang out of the box.
