It's Not Marilyn

In "It's Not Marilyn", Fer Da Silva pays homage to Andy Warhol's legendary Marilyn series while creating a work that is distinctly his own. Using a palette reminiscent of Warhol's Marilyn No. 23, Fer abandons figuration in favor of pure abstraction, letting bold drips and layered colors capture the energy of pop culture without relying on its icons.

The title is a playful nod to what the work isn't—while the essence of Marilyn lingers in the palette, the focus shifts to rhythm, gesture, and emotion. Each drip of paint builds a sense of movement and spontaneity, turning a familiar cultural reference into something fresh and deeply personal.

Collectors will recognize this piece as both a dialogue with art history and an assertion of Fer's evolving voice. By stripping away the image yet keeping the color language, "It's Not Marilyn" celebrates individuality, reinvention, and the freedom of abstraction.
