Paint in Motion

With Paint in Motion, Yoni Alter achieves the impossible: he makes 44 kg of industrial stainless steel look as weightless as a literal splash of paint. This 2026 masterpiece is a definitive exploration of kinetic energy, capturing a split-second explosion of color and petrifying it into a permanent, high-gloss state. The work sits nearly 20 inches off the wall, creating a massive 3D presence that shifts and evolves as you move around it. Alter’s choice of epoxy paint gives the piece a "wet" finish, mimicking the surface tension of liquid in mid-air, while the stainless steel core provides an archival permanence that high-end collectors demand. It is a bold, primary-colored statement piece that bridges the gap between digital graphic precision and raw, physical craftsmanship. For spaces that require a burst of energy and a modern pop-art edge, this sculpture offers an unparalleled visual impact.
